Please visit my.navngo.com's F.A.Q. and support page for further hints.
I cannot see those latest map updates in Content Manager, which were advertised in the latest newsletter. Why?
Those map (and other) updates that require a licence key are not listed in Content Manager as available updates. Please visit my.navngo.com's My updates page, and get an activation key. Then enter the activation key into Content Manager to download the update.

The Select update page does not contain an upgrade to Nav N Go iGO 8, only map updates. Why?
Typical reasons include: your iGO My way SD card does not have enough storage space; or your PDA device is not compatible. See details at the top of the page.

Although I specified my email address, I am not getting any emails. What shall I do?
The most common reason for this problem is an incorrect email address in the database, so it is most likely that you specified an incorrect email address, and this is why you are not receiving emails from the system.
Email addresses not activated by the user are deleted from the system in 13 hours (generally on working days), to allow the user to register again.
The problem may also be caused by your mailing system detecting our emails as spam, i.e. unsolicited mails. Therefore we suggest that you also check your system and spam filter settings. (Many mailing systems identify emails coming from another country, in this case ending with “.com”, as spam.)
I misspelled my email address or entered an incorrect email address. What shall I do?
Email addresses not activated by the user are generally deleted from the system in 13 hours (on working days), to allow the user to register again.
I am unable to register the product's licence key. The system indicates that the key is invalid or reserved.
Please make sure you have specified a correct licence key. Spelling mistakes and confusion of “0” (zero) for the letter “O” (and vice versa) are frequent problems. You can find the licence key under the About/Licences menu item of the navigation software in the following format:
CE-****-****-****-****-****. This is the code you have to provide during registration.
I am unable to update or download larger maps.
The problem may be caused by your anti-virus system; e.g. it may be that the “Amon” file system monitor of ESET NOD32 is ‘blocking’ larger maps. We suggest that you turn off the above monitor of your anti-virus software when updating maps.
Updating requires a direct internet connection. If a firewall or any other protection blocking direct access is turned on, it will most probably interrupt the update process. We advise to use a card reader instead of the ActiveSync in every circumstance because it is more stable and reliable.
I have registered. How can I activate?
We will send you an email containing the activation link to the address you specified during registration.
Just click on the link we send you, and then enter the password you specified during registration. Activation takes place automatically as you enter the site.
While checking for updates, the status bar freezes at 75%. What shall I do?
This is often caused by the write protection of the SD card or an incorrect connection of the mini SD-SD adapter. Please check the switch status (make sure that the write protection of the card is disabled); and pull the mini SD card out of the adaptor and put it back in again.
While installing the software after updating, I get an error message indicating that certain files are missing or not available. What shall I do?
It is likely that the memory card contains other data as well, and there is not enough memory on it for all the files to be installed. Remove all personal data from the card, restore the card to its original condition using a backup copy, and run the update application again.
What do the icons in MapLoader stand for?
MapLoader has 3 different icons in the list on the left side.
The green ‘up’ arrow shows a recommended update. You can also identify updates based on the version number of the map.
The blue equal sign means that you have the latest version of the map on the memory card or on the device; no update is necessary.
The grey ‘down’ arrow indicates that the map currently installed in iGO My way is newer than the one locally available.
I would like to update the map but MapLoader sends an error message saying there is not enough free space. What shall I do?
To ensure successful update, MapLoader first downloads the map to a temporary location and moves it to its final location only if the download is complete. You may not have enough free space on the memory card to store the country map in a temporary location. If so, you first need to remove the map on the device and then repeat the operation. But we advise the use of a card reader instead of ActiveSync in every circumstance because it is more stable, reliable and much faster then ActiveSync. In some cases updating via ActiveSync does not work properly, and that's why we advise using a card reader.
When launching MapLoader, I get an error message saying “no navigation system found”. Why?
When MapLoader is launched it first tries to locate the device where the iGO My way software is installed. If no such device is found, the above error message is displayed. If you connect the device to the computer using ActiveSync, please check if the connection is still active. If you have a card reader, use a file manager tool (e.g. Windows Explorer) to confirm that you have the iGO My way navigation software on the card.
I would like to restore a backup copy but the software would not let me do it. What is the problem?
If you use MapLoader with a card reader once and through the ActiveSync connection the next time, the system may not remember the location of the last backup copy correctly. If the last backup copy was made using a card reader, you should use the card reader to restore it. The same principle applies to the ActiveSync connection.
I would like to restore a backup copy and the software asks me for the target location of the files. Why?
If you made the backup copy and restored it using a card reader, the software asks for the drive with the card where you want to restore the backup copy. The drive letters may have been reassigned on the computer since the backup copy was made.
Why do I get the error message “An error has occurred: cannot upload file to device” when I try to update my map?
This issue may be a result of a number of different reasons. If you work via ActiveSync connection, please check the connection. If the iGO My way navigation software is running, please close the application.
Why does iGO My way close when I launch MapLoader?
MapLoader stops navigation because the iGO My way navigation software and MapLoader cannot run simultaneously.
I have selected a map but the ‘Install’ button is inactive. Why?
If you select a map and the ‘Install’ button is inactive, the map version on the device is newer or is the same as the one locally available. If you still would like to install the earlier version, please delete the one on the device first.
How can I make a backup copy of my iGO My way memory card?
The easiest way to make a backup copy is to use MapLoader. To make a backup copy manually, do the following:
Close your iGO My way navigation software, then insert the memory card into a card reader connected to the computer or connect your GPS device to the computer and establish an ActiveSync connection. Use Windows Explorer or any other file manager to display the content of the card, and then select all folders and files on it. Create a new folder on your computer where you would like to store the backup copy and then copy all folders and files from the card to the new folder.
I have a PDA device of Mio P550. I would like to make an update via ActiveSynch, but I keep failing. What shall I do?
In case of Mio P550 devices the update via ActiveSynch might fail. Instead, it is highly recommended to update via a card reader.
Navigate from contacts menu doesn’t work… What shall I do?
1. Take your iGO My way SD card from the device.
2. Gently reset by pressing the device’s reset switch.
3. Replace the iGO My way SD card and use File Explorer and manually start the Autorun.exe which is located in /2577 directory.
4. A message will be appeared: "iGO My Way 2006 Plus has been already installed. Do you want to reinstall?" – Click on "Yes".
How do I prevent the contacts loading?
You can switch off this feature by adding some text to sys.txt which is located on the SD card in the /iGO directory.
Please open it, and add these lines into:
[interface]
skip_contact_import=1
Following these steps, you can prevent contacts import.
If you would like to use this feature again, just simply delete these entries.
If there is no sys.txt in the /iGO directory, just simply create a plain text document in that name.
Why aren’t all of my contact addresses shown in iGO My Way 2006 Plus?
There are two rules to enable the contact import feature:
1. The given address needs to be in iGO My way standard format:
For example:
Name: Nav N Go Kft.
Street: Bérc
Number: 23.
ZIP: 1016
City: Budapest
Country: Hungary
You cannot use special characters such as these: / - , ; /A /2 etc.
2. The specified address needs to exist in the map database, and you also need to have the contact's countries maps.
For example:
If you wanted to import your Hungarian friend’s address from Outlook into iGO My 2006 Plus, You need to have the Hungarian map of iGO My Way 2006 Plus etc.
If your iGO My way doesn’t contain the Hungarian map, it will not be added to that contact.
First of all, the application asks me for a security copy or backup, but I can’t specify the folder destination.
The backup can be found on the PC at: \Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\iGO\
How can I move my legal iGO My way software and maps to a new SD card with more capacity than 1GB, in order to update both using MapLoader?
The security system of the iGO My way is SD card locked so unfortunately there is no way to copy it to a larger capacity card or onto another SD (micro), you can only use the iGO My way on the original SD card.
Please visit http://www.i-go.com/en/products/iGO_2006_SD/specifications.php where this is reinforced.
