Nav N Go Story
Nav N Go Kft was founded in 2005 with the aim of offering revolutionary and innovative software solutions for satellite navigation. Thanks to the international success of their iGO My way GPS navigation software, the company grew rapidly and dramatically. Nav N Go Kft. employs approximately 250 people at its headquarters in Budapest, Hungary, where the main activities include research and development, as well as project and product management.
Nav N Go has distribution partners in 20 different countries; and by supplying over 70 global consumer electronic companies, it occupies an influential market position in almost every continent of the world, from North and South America to Europe and Asia. Today the 3D navigation program they developed runs in the products of such world-renowned brands as HP, Sony PSP, and Clarion.
The company regularly presents its developments at international computer fairs; and since 2006, it has been a regular exhibitor at CeBIT in Hanover, Germany. For the first time in 2008, they also took part in the Las Vegas CES exhibition. Their greatest innovation is the iGO amigo line introduced at CeBIT 2009, which, as a premium product, promises to be a new milestone for the navigation industry.
Today, the name Nav N Go stands for a dynamic and innovative development company which provides comprehensive and easy-to-use solutions not only for navigation, but also for games development and mobile devices.
Milestones
November 2004- Foundation of Nav N Go Kft. More investors stepped in e.g. GPS&More and contributed the necessary global navigation business experience.
- Nav N Go introduced its GPS navigation software called iGO My way Hungary. The program sold on an SD-memory card soon became a favourite of the Hungarian drivers.
- At CeBIT Hannover, Germany, Nav N Go launched the biggest sensation in the navigation world iGO My way 2006 with maps of 26 European countries on a 1GB memory card.
- Acquired PDAmill, a 3D gaming solutions company, that participated from the beginning in the development of iGO My way software.
- At the Hannover CeBIT, Nav N Go previewed its genuine 3D map software Nav N Go iGO 8, now under development.
- Introduced maps of the USA, Canada and Europe on a 2GB SD card.
- Nav N Go introduced those partners on IFA Berlin that have already showed up on the market with the 3D Nav N Go iGO8 based navigation products. Appliances like Mio 620 and Sony PSP got into circulation with map of full Europe.
- Nav N Go showed up in America. The 3D based Nav N Go iGO 8 was introduced on CES - Las Vegas with the maps of Canada and USA.
- At CeBIT in Hannover, Nav N Go introduced the memory card version of its 3D navigation software, the Nav N Go iGO 8. The company made promising co-operation agreements with many global companies on the international fair.
April 2008
- Nav N Go launched Nav N Go iGO 8 in Hungary. The software sold on a microSD memory card contains the map coverage of 43 European countries, and facilitates navigation with a large number of user friendly functions.
May-August 2008
- A growing number of navigation products and PDAs are launched featuring Nav N Go’s 3D navigation software solution. The world-renowned brands include Clarion, Asus, and Ramar.
September 2008
- As platinum-grade sponsor of the Canalys International Navigation Forum, Nav N Go hosts the key players of the navigation industry in Budapest, Hungary.
October-November 2008
- Nav N Go’s outstanding performance is rewarded with several prestigious prizes honoring the approach they employ in the area of technology and business. Among Nav N Go’s prizes are the IT-Business Leadership Award, the ‘Rising Star’ category award in the Technology Fast 50 list drawn up by Deloitte, and the 2008 Business Ethics Award.
December 2008
- Naviextras.com, Nav N Go’s new map and content update portal is launched. Apart from updates for the PDA versions of Nav N Go iGO 8 navigation software, updates for several PNA brands are also available. In addition, the portal offers new maps and other additional content for purchase.
January 2009
- Nav N Go announces extensions to its map coverage and introduces map data solutions for Chile, China, and India. This increases Nav N Go’s map coverage in the South American region, and means the development company is among the first on the market to provide mapping solutions for China.
March 2009
- Nav N Go introduces its brand-new premium-category product line, iGO amigo, at CeBIT 2009 in Hanover, Germany. This navigation software solution, optimized for PNAs, generates interest from a large number of well-known navigation device manufacturers.
April-June 2009
- Nav N Go introduces iGO amigo to the North American market and several European countries. The software runs on navigation devices manufactured by some of the company’s selected partners.
August 2009
- Nav N Go launches iGO My way 2009 for iPhone, a software solution offering lifelike 3D navigation. The product is available in North America, Europe, and Western Europe editions.
Today
- Nav N Go develops a wide range of navigation software solutions for PNDs, smartphones, game consoles, built-in car navigation systems, and other hardware. The company’s software solutions are available on navigation devices produced by several manufacturers, including Becker, Clarion, Asus, Pioneer, Hyundai and Nextar. Supplying over 70 OEM partners, the software development company occupies an influential market position in Europe, North and South America as well as Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.
Hungarian company Nav N Go presents iGO primo™ to OEM partners – an easy-to-use navigation solution that features the company’s latest technological advancements
For the first time in the company’s history, Nav N Go exhibits at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain between 15th and 18th February, 2010. In cooperation with map provider Navteq, we welcome our partners and members of the press at booth 1D59 in Hall 1 to introduce our latest navigation solutions for several mobile platforms like Android, Windows Mobile and iPhone.
12 new regional versions of iGO My way for iPhone are now available on AppStore. Free quarterly map updates until the end of 2010 are included in the one-off purchase of a regional package of the application. All available regions are based on the updated 1.1 version of the application; consequently, they offer all new features, such as multi-point route calculation, navigation to iPhone contacts and music playback from the Quick menu.
