An update is released for Nav N Go iGO 8
An update (R1 patch) is released on 29th August 2008 for Nav N Go
iGO 8 users, which fixes most known problems, updates several free contents, and
almost doubles the number of compatible PDA devices.
The update is available free of charge through Content Manager update PC-tool. Those who bought their Nav N Go iGO 8 in a retail shop, can install Content Manager from the DVD that came with the SD card, while those, who upgraded from the iGO My way 2006 version through my.navngo.com site already downloaded and used it for the previous upgrade.
You can also download the Content Manager application from here.
Downloading and installing this update with the Content Manager does not require product registration or any license or activation key.

The update provides fixes for most knows software problems and others optimizing the softwares performance and speed. It also offers many free content updates, including languages, schemas and voices. Support for 240x240, 320x320, 400x240 and 240x400 px screen resolution has also been added.

Map updates for Nav N Go iGO 8
Map updates for Nav N Go iGO 8 are provided through our new update and service web portal: www.naviextras.com. The site is currently in public beta test, and is expected to commercially launch at the end of September.
Map and 3D updates will be soon available on the www.naviextras.com site. The updates will be downloaded and installed to the SD card with the next version of the current Content Manager PC-tool, called Naviextras Toolbox.
Naviextras.com portal will support both updating your current maps and POIs, and adding extra maps to your navigation software in order to extend its coverage.

3D Navigation to Support Budapest Ambulances
The latest donation in the charity program called "Navigation for the Emergency Services" is 10 navigation devices for the Hungarian National Ambulance Service, donated jointly by Nav N Go Kft. and NAVON Kft. The devices and software will support ambulances operating out of stations in Budapest. The main aim of the gift is to replace the navigation devices that were recently stolen from two ambulances. SceneCON 2008, a demoscene party sponsored by Nav N Go, a committed supporter of innovations, was held in the Csokonai Culture Center in Budapest. The demoscene party, held this year for the third time, brought together almost 120 programming and PC fans, including developers from various IT companies, as well as musicians, game-console fans and enthusiastic amateurs all eager to exchange ideas.
